Excuse me for the delay in getting this president's letter out more than a week into March. There have been changes afoot that had me hold off.  Let me start by saying there is no March NEMPA meeting. We had a busy February with our winter awards judging, a Mazda presentation at our February meeting (itself moved to accommodate Valentine’s Day) and a Buick presentation at John Lawlor's headquarters—a great space to do a program.

As I write this, the Groundhog has seen his shadow, which portends six more weeks of winter. As long as it's six more weeks of winter like we've been enjoying here in New England, then I'm not complaining. But something tells me we're not going to be so lucky.

At the yearly Ford dinner celebrating the Boston Auto Show, in John Henry’s suite at Fenway Park, NEMPA stalwart Bill Griffith was presented a cake for his 65th birthday. It was an appropriate setting; in addition to being a contributing automotive editor for the Boston Globe, Bill is a voting member of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
