It’s Just A Little Thing, But…

—Silvio Calabi

This umpteenth generation of the Wrangler traces its ancestry back to the early 1940s, when the US Army’s “light reconnaissance vehicle”—the jeep—became one of the Allies’ most valuable weapons of war. Any GI of that day would recognize the silhouette and grille of the Wrangler of today, but he would be gobsmacked by what’s inside. Just one little example: that small panel on the console just ahead of the shift lever, marked MEDIA. Flip it open and you find three electronic sockets. Digital media here is like GPS guidance on a slingshot. But it’s all part & parcel of the new Wrangler’s totally computerized infotainment package, which also includes a 4G hotspot. You can even talk to your new Wrangler through Alexa.
