Nissan Rogue’s Great Looks Lend Themselves Well to Video Reviews and Photography, but NEMPA’s Test Team Discovers That There Is a Lot of Substance Under the Gorgeous Exterior

One five-passenger crossover that has elevated its game with its most recent generation is Nissan’s Rogue. Always a value leader in the segment, the Rogue is now arguably the best-looking crossover in its very important segment. So good looking, that we found a lot of the New England Motor Press Association’s testers turned to video and photography to help spread the word on the Nissan Rogue.

Kamil Kaluski of Hooniverse was one of the first NEMPA members to publish a video on the new Rogue. Kamil ran down the list of updates the Rogue received at its last generational change, saying:

The Rogue has received new front and rear fascias, grille, new inner taillights, and satin-finish badges. The interior received new colors and textures for the door panels, seats, center console, and dash trim. The Platinum model, as seen here, received gloss-black trim pieces, new wheels, and an optional chestnut brown leather upholstery.

NEMPA’s Zane Merva also found the Rogue easy on the eyes, saying, “The new Rogue makes a solid first impression with its clean exterior updates and a noticeably upscale interior for the class.”

Michael Venn is NEMPA’s resident videographer expert. He’s a solid reviewer in his own right, but behind the scenes, he shoots a lot of the images and video you will find at the biggest publications. Michael said of the 2025 Nissan Rogue he shot and reviewed:

The 2025 Nissan Rogue Looks Fantastic. That blue paint on the exterior is gorgeous. The interior, with its two-tone brown and black leather, looks great. It just really looks upscale. The quality, the craftsmanship, the materials – everything is really nice.

Please jump to Michael’s video review to see just what a true professional can do to show off a handsome vehicle design. The videography Michael produces is simply at the industry’s highest levels for artistry and visual impact, and the Rogue is the perfect muse for his work.

Among our team members who can deliver reviews to the biggest names in automotive publishing is Cliff Atiyeh. You know Cliff from his work at Car and Driver and Road and Track. Cliff does all kinds of great work at these publications, and one responsibility he has is to select the vehicle models that earn “Best Vehicle” type of awards and recognition. Cliff’s full review of the Rogue appears in a video at CarGurus. Like all of our members, Cliff did comment on the dynamic styling of Rogue, saying it is “Edgy without being too trendy.”

Cliff is a substance guy, and it shows in his reviews. He dove deep into the Rogue’s very advanced engine design. Cliff noted,

For just a three-cylinder, there is plenty of power in the Rogue…Three-cylinder engines are in vogue, and Nissan is mass-marketing one in this Rogue…They have just enough power, and they sound good. There are Infiniti-grade technologies in the Rogue (powertrain).

Check out Cliff’s on-screen charisma and how easily his commentary flows. Paired with a pro videographer like Michael Venn, there is simply no better content being created today than what the CarGurus team produces.

Katherine Angell is one of NEMPA’s resident influencers, and she highlighted the Rogue on her TikTok channel. She went right to the design, saying, “The wheels look cool to me, they are dark grey. On the back side, I’m adding points.” Katherine is a master at conveying the feel of interior materials on video. Watch as she goes through the Rogue piece by piece, imparting to the person watching her content the textures and richness of the materials.

One of NEMPA’s most experienced testers is Mike Geylin. Mike can impart a lot of information with just a handful of words. The title of his review speaks volumes. Mike went with “Rogue Solidifies Compact SUV Credentials.” We won’t spoil his review by listing all of the praise Mike heaped on the Rogue, but let us offer his closing sentence to show off just how he can capture the essence of a vehicle succinctly: “The Rogue offers lots of choices at competitive prices within the compact SUV segment. Solid in every aspect.” That says it all!

NEMPA member Tim Plouff is no stranger to the Rogue. We counted no less than three prior Rogue reviews online that Tim had done in prior years. For 2025, Tim’s review appears in the Ellsworth American. Check it out here.

Nissan’s Rogue also had a price drop recently, which many members highlighted in various ways. I did a feature story at Torque News to get the word out to shoppers.

There is more content pending from NEMPA members on the 2025 Nissan Rogue. Watch your favorite outlets for more coverage.
